Turret Steel Industries, Inc. was founded as Turret Steel Corp. in 1970, in the New York Metropolitan area. In 1979, our sales office was relocated to Leetsdale, PA, just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, for better proximity to our primary warehouse and shipping points. Company headquarters remain there today.

In 1996, an acquisition was made that gave the company a very strong presence in the Midwest.

In 1998, the company became affiliated with Sunbelt-Turret Steel, Inc., a steel bar supplier and processor in Charlotte, NC.

And in 1999, the acquisition of a 160,000 sq. ft. facility in Warren, OH enabled the company to consolidate a number of operations and to add to the services that are offered.

In 2002, we acquired our state-of-the-art, 80,000 sq. ft warehouse in Chicago, IL (just minutes from Midway airport).

In 2004, we acquired a 110,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Charlotte, NC.

In 2004, we entered the Tool Steel market.
